The Envirobank Recycling Machine Offers Prizes for Cleaning Litter

Envirobank is a recycling machine that encourages people to feed it used plastics in exchange for the chance to win bus trips and movie tickets.

It's pretty frustrating to see someplace that's overwhelmed with litter and think "someone should pick that up," but Envirobank actually gives you a reason to act on those thoughts and start leading by example. The machines have been installed across Sydney and hope to raise the ultra low recycling rates in the city. Within the first three days of installation at the Haymarket and Circular Quay locations, over 10,000 plastic containers were collected. Considering this, Envirobank would be a fantastic thing to have at big events, concerts, malls or any other open public space to encourage people to clean up after themselves.
