Ecoist Handbags Made of Pull Tabs

These attractive bags were made with recycled pull tabs from beverage cans. They have a nylon fabric liner and a zipper closure and they can be worn as part of a casual attire or as an accompanying accessory to an evening dress. The bags, which weigh 1.5 lbs, were made in Brazil by a women’s craft cooperative named Women’s Cooperatives. 

Implications - The rise of environmentalism has caused consumers to increasingly look for products that are made via Earth-friendly means. Recycling, upcycling and repurposing are three buzzwords that categorize the production methods in this niche. Companies can take advantage of this opportunity by releasing socially responsible designs fashioned from recycled goods.
