While much of technology is moving away from dependence on human exertion, projects like the Petal Velomobile are proposed with a hope for future populations. It is a positive suggestion for improving health and caring for the environment.

Here is a man-powered concept car, enhanced however with some futuristic features that make it an appealing alternative to motorized vehicles. KGP Design Studio's electric tricycle operates primarily on the muscles of the driver but assists him as he ascends hills with stored power. LED lights illuminate the way and OLED indicators communicate with others on the road.

The lightweight frame of the Petal Velomobile is cloaked in a gortex spandex skin that could be custom-designed and easily removed. Further personalization is available in the forms of added storage space and a place to seat an infant. These many ingenuous and eco efficient features are all wrapped up in a slender, sleek and streamlined package.
