When I think of kites, I envision a playful, serene pastime; but when Colombian landscape architectural studio Paisajes Emergentes thinks of kites, they envision energy. At least, they did for the Land Art Generator Initiative, which they entered with their kite farm concept.
Essentially, Paisajes Emergentes proposes an energy-generating kite farm that will be located on a beach in Abu Dhabi. By being tethered to flexible apparatus, up to 200 para-kites would be able to use a patented Windbelt generator in order to power up to 600 homes with ease.
