The Necktie Vertical Garden from Modcloth bloggers Julie and Laura is the perfect DIY project for Father's day.

To start, you will need scissors, thread, needle, potting soil, plastic bags, metal hanger(s), felt swatches, tie(s), decorative buttons (alternatively pins, brooches, cuff links, etc.) and of course, plants. Then, at the end of the tie, grab your scissors, pinch and cut a slit in the outermost layer. Grab your felt swatch, and cut it to fit inside the end. With a plastic bag, fill the corner with potting soil and plant the greenery. Place inside the bottom of the tie and voila, a cute present for your dad on Father's Day. As well, you can add buttons or brooches to add a fun element to the project. Stats for Mulched Menswear Planters Trending: Older & Mild
