Toy Blocks-Shrouded Skeletons

Nathan Sawaya Covers Human Bones with LEGO Bricks

Nathan Sawaya has already conquered building LEGO models of superheroes, TV hosts and celebrities, so to change things up, he’s trying to incorporate other materials into his LEGO sculptures. For his latest creation, he decided to work in a human skeleton. No one can fault the guy for originality.

What Nathan Sawaya has done with this masterpiece, which he titled ‘Bare Bones in Bricks,’ is create a LEGO layer of skin for his boney friend. Viewers will notice that Sawaya meticulously replicates anatomically correct feet and legs for the skeleton while also posing its hands in a manner that suggests the sculpture is building itself.

The sculpture was made for a recent Kiehl’s charity event, in which Sawaya was asked to interpret Mr. Bones in any manner he so chose.
