At the risk of making Trend Hunting look easy (it’s not) I simply stumbled across the site of a photographer known as Mr Means and was totally struck by the style of his work and the portraits in his portfolio. The expression on per- haired Brian is perfect to a tee, as is some man named Chris who was photographed in a bath tub. One of the reasons I think these photographs are so strong is they don’t automatically strike you as portraits due to the detail and set up in each image.  I was born and raised on my family's farm in rural Maryland, where at the age of 3, I lost two toes in a lawn mowing accident, a trauma that resulted in my unique personality and sharp sense of humor. At the age of 10, my mother bought my first camera that sparked my obsession with image making. This led me to attend the Maryland Institute College of Art where I received a Bachelors degree in photography.
