Cubic Patchwork Chairs

Annika Goransson's Mosaiik Lounge Chair is Inspired by Corncobs

Although the Mosaiik Lounge Chair has a patchwork appeal, I think the fact that it was inspired by corncobs and sunflower buds makes it even more unique. Once you know that tidbit of information, you can't help but make that textural association.

Created by Swedish design student Annika Göransson, the Mosaiik Lounge Chair boasts 297 foam cubes. I especially love how she has chosen to upholster this chair. By using sections of wool, she creates a smooth seat surface while the underbelly is left rough and unfinished.
