John McCain Plays the Drums

Presidents have always tried to connect to the community with music, with mixed success. In 1992, Bill Clinton broke out a saxophone to serenade late-night viewers and a star was born. In 1960, however, Richard Nixon played the mouth harp and sent his campaign down the crapper.

In this video, a multitasking John McCain is shown playing the drums and giving a speech at the same time. It’s an expertly edited submission for the second ‘Colbert Report’ Greenscreen Challenge; the prompt is “Make McCain Seem More Young and Vital.” The actual drummer is Dennis Chambers.
