Rumors about the Nano iPhone are starting to confirm.
The success of Apple’s high priced iPhone has led to the development of a more affordable model. According to JP Morgan the evolution of the iPod Nano has begun. By the end of the year Apple will be phasing out the Nano in favor of a “Nano Phone”. The new phone will cost under $300 and will feature controller wheels rather than touch screens. JP Morgan estimates Apple could sell 30 to 40 million Nano Phones in the first year of their release.
Sources in the manufacturing supply chain and a US Patent and Trademark office application indicate Apple will follow the June release of high-priced iPhones with bargain-priced Nano phones, according to analyst Kevin Chang of Morgan's Asia Pacific Equity Research unit.
"Putting all the information together, we believe theres a strong sign that Apple will come out with a second phone that will replace iPod Nano," Chang wrote in a report to investors.
