Kelburn is one of the oldest castles in Scotland to be lived in by the same family continuously. What were the current caretakers thinking when they allowed two graffiti artists to take over the exterior? Two Brazilian street artists from Sao Paolo Nina and Nunca Os Gemeos painted the exterior with bright, Brazilian colors. And you thought your neighbor's car up on blocks was an eyesore!
Implications - Street art and graffiti are an increasingly acceptable artform in the public sphere. Where they were once perceived as a taboo artform for deviants and miscreants, they have found a place in museum exhibits and have become a primary focus for toursits interested in international art.
