Häagen-Dazs, one of the world’s leading ice cream, is letting its consumers dream up the next big flavour. The Häagen-Dazs flavor search contest is asking ice cream lovers to concoct an exotic new flavor that will hit freezers throughout North America. User-generated proposals can be submitted on the website, and can include videos, photos or any other creative way they can give the scoop on why their flavor rocks.

The Häagen-Dazs marketing team has done some innovative stuff before. Check out what they did in Tokyo to launch their new luxury ice creams:

A flavor contest last year, with the Food Network cable channel as a partner, generated around 500 entries. The winner, Sticky Toffee Pudding, was meant to be sold for six months, Mr. Ritterbush said, but proved “so popular we brought it into the full line.” (nytimes)
