GDG Studios Creates Ceramic Decor That Looks like Knits and Fabrics

GDG Studios creates stunning pieces of home decor that are made out of porcelain but look like they were crafted out of other materials. For instance, GDG Studios' Crochet series appears to be formed from knits while the Styroware pieces look like stuccoed styrofoam. These fun textures give the designs interesting details as well as a homey feel.

Run by industrial designer Joseph Gower, GDG Studios is based in New Jersey. The creations that come out of the studio are not only playfully textured, their shapes are also inspired by the materials they mimic. For instance, the Crochet pieces have a slouchy look as though they are about to flop over while the Styroware designs are much more stiff and static.
