It may at first look hi-tech and possibly utilitarian, but the Flower Barb Light integrates a predominant physical feature that is entirely appearance-based. The unusual backwards lampshade does not block, soften or diffuse the bright beam that the fixture emits since it is too retracted in the opposite direction.

Four sharp folded fins make up the pointed head of the table lamp, striking a resemblance to a paper airplane when viewed from the side. The exterior of Michael Samoriz's product has been coated in a matte black finish for a sleek avant-garde aesthetic and, meanwhile, a bright cobalt blue brings a hidden vibrancy to the inside of the blossoming pyramidal form. As if drawing intensity from a much broader beam behind, the Flower Barb Light casts a razor-edged ray on your desk or bedside table.
