The June 2012 Elle UK 'The Tempest' photoshoot transforms Gwen Loos into a rather convincing mermaid. The model is found entangled in an array of seaweed, sprawled out on the beach amid planks of wood. The sparkling backdrop mixes well with the ethereal display, taking Elle Magazine enthusiasts on to a mystical journey.

The Tempest editorial was directed by photographer Enrique Badulescu. Bandalescu has effortlessly captured Loos' merger with the siren culture, playing up on her light blue eyes and natural flowing tresses. Stylist Anne-Marie Curtis made use of light-weight apparel here, dressing Loos in gilded transparent tops, chiffon dresses and even a long formal gown. The production's mermaid slant was most adamantly driven home by the two metallic jewels found beneath Loos' eyes, further merging her appearance with the glistening waters.
