Microsoft Research has developed the Digits motion sensor bracelet that is able to carry out all the functions of the digital world without even touching a single device.
The device is made solely with off-the-shelf hardware, but that’s not to say it isn’t as sensitive as other Kinect-integrated technologies. The Digits motion sensor bracelet is able to transfer the hand’s gesture in real time, which allows for 3D gaming and augmented reality as well as pinch zoom and answering phone calls without even touching your computers or phones. The sensor detects commands given based on the hand’s signals using its gesture recognition software. This gesture-based device is so compact that it would make things infinitely more convenient, especially for commuters on packed train rides where reaching for a phone or computer is almost impossible.
