Designer Art Donovan creates a collection of steampunk-inspired lamps and lighting solutions.
Steampunk is a science fiction sub-genre that is fictionalized to take place in a post-apocalyptic era that is intriguingly Victorian-inspired. The fictional setting is incredibly elaborate. The sub-genre mixes the ancient and the future in a way that is not as neat, minimalist and cold as many would imagine.
The setting features a time period where machinery is operated through steam power and the fashion choices are heavy and bulky and Victorian. Inspired by this incredible genre, Donovan creates a number of different articles. His lighting objects are of all kinds imaginable varying from ceiling mounts to chandeliers to desk lamps. Including these designs, artist will be publishing the second edition of his book 'The Art of Steampunk' in May.
