California-born artist Nienke Klunder makes these amazing photographic series reflecting contemporary culture. This series above is from the ongoing art series “The Community,” which explores the female identity.

They hair and makeup is done incredibly well--if you saw any of these characters in the street, you probably wouldn't recognize them.

Very interesting to see what body language, facial expressions and makeup can do. It is truly amazing.

Implications - With large corporations dominating the contemporary world, consumers are looking to the streets for doses of inspiration. These portraits demonstrate the customer desire for a more down-to-earth aesthetic when it comes to purchasing products. Companies would do best to consider how their commodities feed this need for authenticity in a largely business-driven world. Stats for Community Art Portraits Trending: Older & Mild
