In the 1960s, many young women in Hong Kong grew up reading about comic book character Miss 13 Dot. Created by Theresa Wei-Chun, this character became a pop culture icon and young women often took the books to their tailor to have the fashions copied.

The name of Miss 13 Dot originates from Shanghainese dialect where it refers to a modern but silly young woman.

Recently, a retrospective was held in Toronto honoring Theresa Wei-Chun’s career and work, with a focus on Miss 13 Dot at the 2nd Half Gallery. Stats for Comic Book Fashion Trending: Older & Average
