The Caffeine Necklace Makes Science Fashionable

Science has never exactly been my strong point, but the Caffeine Necklace almost makes me want to give chemistry class another shot. Almost.

The Molecular Addictions Collection by Aroha Silhouettes is launching one item each month for the rest of 2011 and the latest addition is the Caffeine Necklace, a pendant in the shape of the molecules that make up caffeine. The collection is meant to showcase the dependency society has developed toward certain substances. The necklace is made from strong lightweight stainless steel that has been covered in a smooth matte black powder coating and topped with gunmetal chain and findings.

As an avid coffee drinker myself, the Caffeine Necklace seems like a quirky way to wear my favorite vice around my neck—and perhaps subtly hint at others to pick me up a nice cappuccino every now and then.
