There have been crowdsourcing initiatives that have spanned internationally to procure talent from across the globe, but not many that have kept the effort local. Brandsupply, however, is a Netherlands-based company that offers graphic design contests that focus only on local dutch clients and designers. The contests run from a week to two weeks in which clients outline a project, set a price they’re willing to pay, and then local designers submit their ideas. While keeping crowdsourcing local means less talent to draw on, that seems like a small price to pay for the understanding of local customs and culture that can make design ideas more relevant and suitable for the clients.
