The Bookcase Staircase is Great for Small Spaces

The Bookcase Staircase is a fantastic solution to small space problems. As its name suggests, it combines a staircase and bookcase in one. The shallow walls between each step have been deepened to accommodate books. Not only does this offer a unique place to store books, effectively eliminating the need for traditional bookshelves, the Bookcase Staircase also adds a lot of character to the decor of a space.

Conceived by London-based architecture and design studio Levitate, the Bookcase Staircase is capable of holding over 2,000 novels. Fashioned out of oak, the books line the stairwell on three sides. The steps themselves are wide enough for people to comfortably sit and read on them. Conveniently, there is a skylight above for natural lighting.
