Updated Fire Hydrant Hybrids

The Blue Fire Hydrant by Dimitri Nassisi is Multifunctional & Stylish

Dimitri Nassisi — an industrial design graduate of Ecole cantonale d'art de Lausanne, creates a blue fire hydrant that extends itself to the community. Instead of the conventional water supply pump that is a parking inconvenience to many drivers, the student conceives of a more publically functional design that provides relief in humid weather.

The color of the blue fire hydrant is meant to attract the attention of thirsty passers-by. Thus, Dimitri Nassisi turns the urban safety tool into a site where citizens can have a quick drink, refill their water bottles and make sure their canine companions are well hydrated.

Not only does the blue fire hydrant save the city some money as the installation of water fountains is particularly complicated but it also is incredibly discrete and design-forward.
