Times are never dull in the Netherlands. As part of the Designhuis ‘Bicyle’ exhibition, Swedish designer Anders Jakobsen has created a roller-coaster for bicycles. The rustic structure, made with a chainsaw and pieces of salvaged wood is open and available for anyone with the nerve to take a shot at the bumpy narrow path, steep banks and hills. The highest point is said to be 2 meters off the ground. Better wear a helmet! The exhibition runs through to October 5, 2008 in Eindhoven, and Designhuis says its goal is to, “give an overview of the bicycle in its context, as a means of transport, a social phenomenon, as a means of recreation, as a lifestyle, as a means of engaging in (top-class) sport.” References: designhuis, coolhunting Filed In: |
