This urban bicycle-rental stand was one of the winners of the 2007 Spark Design & Architecture Awards. It’s supposed to work like a U-Haul with one way trips to other stands. The bikes would be equipped with RFID chips to help keep track of them. So now, a pocket of change can score you a Snickers, a Mt. Dew, or an undersized bicycle.
