Bike Lock Barriers

Bicycle Fence Merges Two Infrastructural Elements for Efficiency and Security

Many of the world's greatest cities feature a meandering canal or lake or oceanfront, making the Bicycle Fence a valuable bit of infrastructure that can meet a pair of urban demands at once. Serving as a safety barrier along a riverbank, a boardwalk or a busy street, this innovative bike rack makes the metropolis much friendlier to cyclists.

A group of Hyupsung University students came up with this system of posts and railings that integrates gates with seven vertical rungs. Each of these has a slot down the middle that's large enough to accommodate the insertion of a pushbike's front or back tire. The top of it is detached and angles forward, securing the wheel between the the hardwearing bars and the pavement below. The Bicycle Fence can hold lengthy rows of pedaled conveyances.
