Animal lovers and humanimal enthusiasts will adore these Ben Kehoe paintings. The Pennsylvania-based artist creates imaginative fantasy scenarios involving animals with human traits, often wearing clothes and showing human emotions. Funny, ironic and heartfelt, these paintings are extremely detailed and feature elaborate and beautifully colored backgrounds. The piece that shows a frog man fighting off a masked attacker with a hook and a knife for hands is my favorite of the collection, as it is one of the most comical illustrations. The painting of a bird clutching a nest in the cold fall night is, on the other hand, extremely tragic and touching.

Fans of classic books and cartoons like "The Wind in the Willows" will love these Ben Kehoe paintings. His full portfolio is available for viewing online at his Flickr address, with prints available for purchase in his Etsy store. I highly suggest checking out the entire collection.
