Artists Invites Friends to Eat off Her Body Parts

Artist Ioli Kalliopi Sifakaki created this unusual tableware which was crafted and molded after her own body parts. She then invited male friends to eat, literally, off her body parts.

The art project was based on an old Greek myth in which Tantalus offered himself to the gods as food.

Sifakaki used ceramic in her art project because “they bare a remarkable resemblance to the purity and smoothness of the human flesh.” She chose to use parts of herself to provoke unique relationships between herself and the users.
