Sam the Koala captured Australians’ hearts during the Victorian bush fires when firefighter David Tree stopped to give her a drink amid the devastation (second picture).

While Sam (a female Koala) has been recuperating from her bushfire injuries, she now has an agent, TressCox lawyers, to help manage her sudden rise to fame. Mr David Tree has also engaged an agent, Di Rolle, to organize his talk show schedules on German and US stations.

However, a feud has broken out between the two parties, with Sam’s agent claiming that David Tree does not have the koala’s interests at heart.

I’m sure all Sam wants to do is kick back in a gum tree and rest!

Mr Tree has quit his job as a real-estate agent and is being touted as the next Steve Irwin. He's about to head to Germany to appear on a talk show discussing the bushfires and the striking image that was beamed around the world. His representatives are also in talks for him to travel to the US to make appearances, with rumors he may go on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and negotiating for a special on US documentary channel Animal Planet. This is so sad David Tree was not the only person to help the koalas I have tons of photos of Bike riders and other people giving koalas water. Sam was not from the black sat fires. Yes David did find him while back burning, the Koala Sam is a wild animal not anyones pet. NOW this CFA davis tree is going to say he is an expert????? WTF. And Bob Irwin is taking him under his wing as the next Steve Irwin???????? BOB you son knew so much about Wildlife for you tto take a man that was doing his job and say he is the next Steve Irwin no wonder Terri is the way she is when it comes to you

I think if Mr Tree is going to be the next Mr Irwin, as suggested by some, then the support will not be from Aussies - because of the way Mr Tree has gone about commercializing himself and Sam out of this devastating event!
