Apple's Prices Drop From Lower to Lowest for Savvy Shoppers

The novelty of the iPhone has passed--for the people who could afford one, at least. Now, in a deal directly with Apple, Walmart will sell brand new iPhones for $197/$297 (8GB/16GB). Still more than you would like to spend? Head over to Best Buy for a refurbished 3G model iPhone ($149/$249). If you're still reading, I'll tell you about the best deal in town though: AT&T is selling refurbished 8GB iPhones for $99!
Implications - Companies can appeal to consumers by advertising a lifestyle to accompany their brand or product. By creating a luxurious image to go along with the item, businesses will garner attention from consumers who seek a similar lifestyle or appearance for themselves. A company can expand its audience by offering high-tech and luxurious items at lower prices without dropping the high-end image it carries.
