Despite what most people think, branding isn’t restricted to cattle or twisted torture techniques—increasingly, human branding is making its way into mainstream practice. The latest example being newborn baby branding.
It sounds sick and twisted, but back in the day it was predicted that in the future, doctors would permanently mark the bodies of babies using UV branding irons. The concept can be traced all the way back to a 1938 Popular Science magazine, from which the above image is from.
