Retro glamour and vintage looks are extremely hot from the New York and Paris runways to street fashion all over the world. Take this approach one step further and we are graced with a style reminiscent of Burlesque and pin-up fashion. The risqué but tasteful style from the 40’s is showing up in couture, advertising, typefaces and even dinner plates! Model and actress Dita Von Teese, who was once married to performer Marilyn Manson, has been a key factor in the revival of the Burlesque era. She reminds one of the days of Betty Grable, the top pin-up girl of World War II. Von Teese has recently signed on to be the new face of Wonderbra, ramping up the brand from practical underpinnings to a lingerie line reminiscent of the glamorous, vaudevillian 1940’s.
