The Bottega Veneta NYCabat is Inspired by the Omnipresent New York Taxi

The Bottega Veneta NYCabat is the latest handbag from the luxury fashion label, and is unequivocally inspired by the iconic black and yellow taxis of New York City. Limited to 50 pieces and only available in New York City, the Bottega Veneta NYCabat was created for the 2009/2010 Cruise collection, and is made of hand-brushed nappa leather.

The Bottega Veneta NYCabat may represent the first time a high-end designer has ever used the New York taxi as a muse. As Tomas Maier, the Creative Director of Bottega Veneta, explains, “the taxi was shorthand for New York: bold, unyielding, exhilarating, a vehicle, quite literally, to so many possibilities. The new Cabat reflects my feeling that, as much as the city and the world have changed, New York remains incredibly vibrant.”
