Frame-Worthy Magazine Covers

10 of New Yorker Magazine's Best-Loved Illustrations

I have always loved The New Yorker; I often buy the magazine just for the cover. There’s just “something” about their covers that evokes a certain feeling in all of us. The New Yorker Magazine began as a weekly in the mid-1920s and is now published 47 times per year, with five of their issues covering two-week spans.

The New Yorker is noted for its controversial illustrated cover art, like the July 21, 2008 issue that depicted then-presidential candidate Barack Obama in a turban and Michelle Obama with a rifle slung over her back in the Oval Office. In that piece, a portrait of Osama Bin Laden hung on the wall and an American flag lay burning in the fireplace.
