Abundantly Striped Abodes
The Stripe House by GAAGA Architects Boasts a Lined Design

By: Alexandra Serrano (Star) Sep 15, 12

Located in Leiden, the Netherlands, the Stripe House by GAAGA Architects showcases a lusciously lined design.

The structure is a residential three-storey home that features concrete grooving creating the visual stripes on its facade. The lined look of this abode is not simply to appeal aesthetically, but there is a functional value to the barred concrete building. According to Dezeen Magazine, architect Arie Bergsma says: “they enhance the ‘all-sidedness’ of the volume, to link the facades and enhance the perspectival effect of the cube-like shape.”

With such a sleek minimalist look, the design is appealing to those partial to simple and chic design. The Stripe House boasts an irresistible appeal that leaves spectators curious. It has even been reported that fascinated passersby touch the concrete grooves to get a feel for excellent design.
