Interim Industrial Eateries

The Softroom 'Wahaca Southbank Experiment' is Time Sensitive

The Softroom 'Wahaca Southbank Experiment' is a pop-up Mexican restaurant situated outside the festival Southbank Centre in London, England. Using a series of eight shipping containers, the architects were able to create an eye-catching, two-storey eatery.

Serving up delicious Mexican fare, the colorful temporary restaurant contains a glass atrium in the middle. If you are looking for a break from all the summer games excitement, take a trip up to the tequila bar hanging above the terrace. The designers maintain a savvy industrial feeling throughout each container, furnishing the spaces with a mix of recycled and modern pieces. To bring life into the reclaimed shipping containers, Mexican artists have been commissioned to create colorful murals for the walls.

The 'Wahaca Southbank Experiment' temporary restaurant has popped up right in time for the Olympic rush season.
