This Collection of Novelty Plates is Designed to Get Families Chatting

Get your family talking at dinner again with these novelty plates with conversation starting phrases.

The collection is dubbed Purpose Plates, and is the creation of Andrea Rekalidis. Each plate has a red heart which is used as the “pointer.” Above each pointer reads “I want” and “to,” which is the beginning of the sentence you’re communicating. The plate that sits below has the end of the message with words like “kiss you,” “play,” “ice cream” and “a hug.” By lining up the top plate with the bottom plate family, members show each other what’s on their mind in hopes of spurring conversation.

In a way, it’s almost like texting across the table. Regardless, the concept is a fun, once-in-a-while conversation starter.
