A Petition to Make an R Kelly Song the National Anthem

For better or worse, there is a current and legitimate national anthem petition going on to change the Star-Spangled Banner to R Kelly's 2003 hit 'Ignition (Remix).' Of course, the idea of having an MTV hit as a national anthem could only have emerged in the Internet age.

As much as I am secretly hoping that it will pass, the petition still needs 97,436 votes to come into action, but only 27,718 votes to go to congress. Regardless of the success of it, it is an absolutely hilarious pursuit that not only exhibits the mainstream humor in a unique way, but will also increase the song's views on YouTube colossally.

The Internet has changed the way people perceive the world entirely, making even the White House seem relatable and accessible.
