By: TrendHead (Star) Nov 5, 08

Rock n’ Roll meets the religious symbolical painting in Ron English’s contemporary artworks exhibited at The Shooting Gallery in San Francisco. The artist’s subject matter is best described as classic iconic portraits of religious scenes, but turned on its head with the famous black and white clown eye make up of the KISS rockers.

Ron English is considered the “prankster father of agit-pop” and is internationally known for his controversial graffiti-based work, like spraying his messages across surfaces like McDonalds billboards.

English is a pop artist inspired by people like Andy Warhol. His art explores and comments on popular branding and advertising. He has been exhibited internationally and has produced artwork for several album covers like The Dandy Warhols.
