Crazy Confectionery Illustrations

Georges le Mercenaire's Series Shows the Evil in Candy

Georges le Mercenaire's illustration series Sugar! Sugar! Sugar!!!!!!!! focuses on the negative traits of candy confections.

The series features some stereotypes about sugary sweets that are common in pop culture; however, Georges le Mercenaire puts a fun spin on them. The common association of police officers eating doughnuts features a giant doughnut engulfing a cop. Others include a very angry and mafialike gingerbread man who tortures a personified tooth with root canals and teeth-pulling. My personal favorite, though, would be the piñata illustration that shows two paper-mached piñatas beating up a human.

Georges le Mercenaire's illustrations are fun with their bright colors and funny twists on candy confections. The series evokes the viewers to possibly rethink that lunchtime sugary sweet treat and opt for a healthier, nice alternative instead.
