Emergency Cubed Homes

The ePod Shelter Gives Natural Disaster Victims a Temporary Dwelling

With so many natural disasters occurring over recent years, more designers are coming up with innovations to help the victims of these disasters, and one such innovation is the ePod shelter.

A design entered in the James Dyson Foundation competition, the ePod shelter offers victims a temporary home and a private haven for their families. (Privacy is often something most victims do not get when disasters place them in crowded halls filled with other victims.) The ePod shelter is also a cost-effective design that provides green energy via rooftop solar panels that absorb the sun's rays. What's more, the designer also plans for the ePod to be made of completely recyclable Polyethylene.

Offering the ability to be assembled quickly and efficiently, the ePod shelter, as DesignBuzz states, is "one of the best solutions for providing shelters during emergency situations."
