The Barud House in Jerusalem Incorporates Its Surroundings

By: Shelby Lee Walsh (Rockstar) Sep 18, 11
{SummaryTitle}

The modern Barud House is located in Jerusalem and was designed by Paritzki & Liani architects. Incorporating its surroundings, the building extenuates the cliffs surrounding by having interior walls made of glass facing the rocky facade.

The raw terrain was not destructed to create this structure, but rather embraced. The result is a beautiful exterior and interior that complements nature.

The first floor is built to resemble the letter “L” and has a very minimalist aesthetic with light wall colors. The whole of the Barud House is very futuristic-looking, which is probably due to its intense geometric design. The square patterns on the building’s exterior make for a very unique look.

Overall, architects can learn a lot from this building as it represents a shift of buildings and nature converging.
