The age old tradition of bartering has been reborn through a new Australian website. Mumswap.com.au encourages mothers to swap a range of goods and services including doing the ironing, babysitting, business and hobby-related know-how, vacations and fashion.

The free site, launched last month, was set up by a 29 year old Australian mother with other mothers in mind. She was targeting stay-at-home mothers, particularly those battling to make ends meet in households that are down to just one income.

The site aims to help those hurting financially due to rising fuel and grocery prices, and interest rates being at a 12-year high.
