L.L. Bean Creates a 500-Foot Kayak to Celebrate Its 100th Birthday

Outdoor apparel maker L.L. Bean has built a 500-foot kayak to celebrate their 100th birthday. You might remember L.L. Bean from their bootmobile that debuted earlier in the year. That and this kayak are all part of the company's 100th anniversary celebration.

The 500-foot kayak is made using 101 Point65 collapsible kayaks. L.L. Bean hopes to get in the Guinness Book of World Records for having created the world's longest modular kayak. Currently, there is no record holder for the world's longest modular kayak, but L.L. Bean is hoping that their convinces Guinness to add the category. The kayak recently made its maiden voyage at the Paddlesports Weekend in Freeport, Maine. The kayak was paddled by brave L.L. Bean employees who undoubtedly have a new view on the concept of teamwork.
