Professional big-wave surfer Mark Visser survived the 2:00 a.m. waters of Jaws off Maui in a groundbreaking feat. His board and life vest had been fitted with specially engineered NASA submarine LED lighting, illuminating the board and wave in a spectacular manner. The surreal extreme adventure ride, although over in a just few moments, had been two years in the making.

The 28-year-old Australian Mark Visser completed ‘The Night Rider’ as the first of a series for his documentary ‘9 Lives.’
