Color Changing Band-Aids Can Easily Detect Infected Wounds
References: emft.fraunhofer.de & gizmag
Color Changing Band-Aids alleviate the need to peel a bandage back to check if the wound is infected.
Scientists at the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Modular Solid State Technologies in Munich, Germany have come up with color changing Band-Aids. These clever color-changers are impregnated with pH indicator dyes which can differentiate between normal or infected wounds.
Early tests have shown the Color Changing Band-Aids work, and will thus prove useful in a hospital environment.
