Spiderweb Bowls

Guillaume Lehoux's Sod Project Was Inspired by NASA Experiments

Based on NASA experiments, the SOD Project outlines quite an interesting product design concept. In this experiment, scientists exposed spiders to psychoactive substances such as marijuana and caffeine, and then let them weave webs. The structures you see in the gallery above are the results of the experiment.

Reproduced as bowls, French product designer Guillaume Lehoux put together the SOD Project. These pieces, in the form of bowls and baskets, can retain objects just as real spiderwebs do.
