Hundreds Gather For Diana

Princess Adored 10 Years On

It's nice to see that 500 people gathered in person to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the fateful day Princess Diana passed away. In today's world, too much information is conveyed through the media and online, and public figures don't make an effort to connect with people in live setting. Diana's son, Prince Harry made a speech to the hundreds in attendance, and though he didn't cry, his message came from the heart. "Behind the media glare, to us two children she was quite simply the best mother in the world," he said.

"We would say that, wouldn't we? But we miss her... we both think about her every day. She kissed us last thing at night. Her beaming smile greeted us from school. She laughed hysterically or uncontrollably at something silly she might have said or done that day." Her death "was an event that changed our lives forever, as it must have done for everyone who lose someone that night."

This is something special to remember, and a lesson to learn about life, the media, and love. Sydney Harris once said, "When I hear somebody sigh, 'Life is hard,' I am always tempted to ask, 'Compared to what?'"
