Blinking Bifocals

Wink Glasses Will Not Help You in a Staring Contest

You know when you watch movies and your eyes begin to sting after a while? That’s because you’re forgetting to blink. Apparently a lot of us do it, so much so that Japanese eyewear maker Masunaga Optical has created the device the Wink Glasses, a pair of specs that remind you to blink so you don’t develop dry eye or other more serious optical conditions.

The Wink Glasses have a thin liquid crystal sheet on each lens that fogs up after five seconds of not blinking, which is determined by tiny sensors also located on the lens.

The Wink Glasses should ensure those hardcore gamers never miss a moment of World of Warcraft again.
