Iron Man 2 Looking to Re-Enforce Franchise
Alex Scott — January 18, 2010 — Pop Culture
Superhero sequels are a certainty. Successful superhero sequels are a rarity. It is almost 100% guaranteed that a comic book turned film will shortly be followed by a sequel, even if said film is practically unwatchable. The reason for this is simple: merchandising. The more sequels a studio makes the more toys and lunch boxes they can put out.
Iron Man 2 looks to be the second of successful superhero sequels in the last couple of years (the first being The Dark Knight). Bringing back the core cast from the original film, director Jon Favreau appears to have once again created the perfect mix of action, humour and wit.
Sam Raimi, take note before you crank out another Spiderman film.
